2023 Interior Design Trends For The New Year

A new year is around the corner which means we’re taking a peek into the interior design trends 2023 is going to bring. From a marble comeback to a new focus on mood-boosting accessories, the new year has a lot of exciting home interior design inspiration in store.

We’ve pulled together a list of 6 new trends we’re expecting to see in 2023 to help you get your home looking tip-top and on-trend for the new year.

1. Warm neutral colour schemes

Neutral colour schemes have been a key feature of home interior design for years now, and it’s easy to see why. Cosy and clean, neutral colours bring a sense of calm to a space, making it ideal for home decor.

In 2023, an interior design trend we’re anticipating is a continued focus on timeless neutrals, but with a shift towards the warmer shades. We’re talking fewer greys and cool whites and more warm plums and terracottas, inviting warmth and cosiness to your space.

Subtly embrace this colour palette in your home with this snuggly Weaver Herringbone Rust Throw or this abstract Tassel and Pom Pom Ginger Accent Cushion.

2. The return of marble

When it comes to home interior design, certain trends come around time and time again. This time, we’re talking about the wonders of marble.

In 2023, marble (and other stone surfaces more generally) is making a comeback. Marble kitchen countertops and dining tables are classically elegant, standing the test of time when it comes to durability but also bringing an element of cool into the home.

To incorporate this statement interior design trend for 2023, go all out with this show-stopping Ronda Dining Table, start smaller with this chic Bailey White Marble Coffee Table Set or just dip your toe in with a Marble Wall Plant Pot or Decorative Tray. Marble is a surprisingly versatile material.

3. Viva Magenta

Pantone’s eagerly awaited Colour of the Year is usually a good signifier of what to expect for the year ahead’s interior design trends. In 2023, that colour is Viva Magenta, a vibrant, powerful jewel tone Pantone describe as “an unconventional shade for an unconventional time”.

Viva Magento is a shade we expect to see trending in the homes of the most in vogue decor aficionados in 2023, with the expressive and empowering shade being perfect for statement furniture, bold feature walls and iconic accessories.

Want to get a taste of this defining look? Bring a slash of the trending shade into your home with this Alexander & James Ossie High Back Armchair.

4. Statement lighting

Lighting has always been and will always be essential to home decor. It’s what can turn a cold, uninviting room into a cosy and welcoming space you love to spend time in.

Next year, lighting will continue to be just as important, and we’re expecting to see some exciting experimentation when it comes to lamps and light fittings.

Especially in smaller rooms, statement lighting brings a sense of fun, originality and of course much needed light to a space. Try something new with your lighting with this charming Rabbit Table Lamp or this uber-modern Black Open Frame Floor Lamp.

Statement lighting is an unmissable interior design trend for 2023.

5. Colourful, mood-boosting accessories

In almost every home, there’s room for a bright and bold accessory that injects some fun into the space. These mood-boosting pops of colour are an interior design trend we’re expecting to see in 2023 (and beyond!).

Embrace this trend with bold prints, colourful cushions and home decor pieces that show off a bit of your personality, like this iconic Orange Frida Ceramic Vase or this Multicoloured Bird Coat Rack.

6. A touch of gold

Gold is a timeless material, and it’s unlikely to ever go out of fashion. In recent years, however, chrome and brushed nickel taps and accessories have reigned supreme.

Next year, gold will be back in full force - and not just in the kitchen. Incorporate this home interior design trend with gold accessories like this stylish Gold Round Square Mirror, this contemporary Black and Gold Spoke Wall Clock or this delicate Black and Gold Flower Bloom Bowl.
