Peach Fuzz is Pantone’s Colour of The Year – Here’s How You Can Get the Look

Pantone’s hotly anticipated colour of the year has just been released and for 2024 the colour aficionados have declared Peach Fuzz as the hue that will dominate.

Described by Pantone as “a velvety gentle peach whose all-embracing spirit enriches heart, mind, and body”, Peach Fuzz is a nurturing shade that is said to promote wellbeing and the feeling of sanctuary. It’s a huge step away from the dramatic Viva Magenta which was last year’s trending hue, and instead offers a fresh take on the pastel colour palettes that have been gaining momentum in recent months.

Peach is quite a divisive colour but we really love the freshness and optimism of this shade. Big, bold colour palettes have been trending for some time – but as the year has progressed we have started to see demand for pastel home accessories and soft furnishings grow. We think that people have started to realise that more muted shades can still give their interiors a dopamine hit, albeit in a more subtle and paired back way.

As we head towards spring 2024, the popularity of peachy interiors, especially in accessories and accent pieces, will only intensify. We love how thoughtful touches in this shade, like the cuckoo clock or memo board below, can add a sense of fun and playfulness to a space.

Or how about adding a pop of peach with the Happy Space candle by Aery really elevates the wellbeing benefits of the colour.

Another great thing about Peach Fuzz is that it is a versatile shade when it comes to using it in the home. With this in mind, using peachy pink as an accent colour is the perfect way to update an existing room, especially if you don’t want to go all out with a re-design. It will sit well with most neutrals, as well as other trending colours such as terracotta, damson and greens.

For example, this Ercol accent chair really pops against the rich green colour palette to give the colour drenching trend a 2024 update.

To avoid a space looking too washed out, you should also look for patterned home accessories like rugs, cushions and throws which pair peach with other colours - pastels or deeper, darker shades for more of a statement.

Love it or hate it, we are predicting that muted pastels and peachy pink hues will be everywhere in 2024. Who knows, by the end of the year even its harshest critics will be converts!
