2025’s Best Interior Design Trends – We Asked Our Experts
Our interior design experts here at Arighi Bianchi have been doing their trend-spotting homework and have hand-picked the top five defining ideas for homes in 2025.
So, what’s going to be trending for homes and interior design in 2025?
#1 English Essence
The English Essence trend in interior design for 2025 celebrates timeless British design infused with a modern, eclectic sensibility. It is a revival of classic English aesthetics blended with contemporary influences to create warm, character-rich and effortlessly stylish interiors.
The trend draws heavily from quintessential English design, featuring period elements juxtaposed with modern touches, like sleek furniture, minimalist lighting, and contemporary art. Stacks of books, vintage maps, and eclectic art collections bring intellectual charm to spaces.
Expect an emphasis on authentic, durable materials such as oak, mahogany and natural stone. Velvet, tweed, and linen are frequently used for upholstery alongside handcrafted furniture and accessories.
Jewel tones like emerald green, deep navy and burgundy are used to create contrast and add depth, often inspired by British landscapes and historical interiors, and traditional patterns are updated with abstract or oversized renditions to keep them relevant. Indoor plants and botanical motifs are prominent, connecting interiors with the natural beauty of English gardens.
One key element is the emphasis on artisanal craftsmanship and adaptive reuse, so opt for bespoke furniture in reclaimed materials along with accessories like handmade ceramics that offer a tactile, meaningful connection to both the past and the present. Incorporating reclaimed wood furniture into your décor scheme also aligns with the broader sustainability trend, reducing waste and adding a layer of artisanal authenticity to modern spaces.
Little nods to your history, like a gallery wall of family photos or repurposed treasures from the attic, will add to the celebration of imperfection and individuality — your home, your story. By pairing heirloom pieces with a contemporary aesthetic, you can create a space that is both timeless and deeply personal. Think of it as weaving history and individuality into your interiors, allowing each room to tell a story that is uniquely yours.

#2 Good Enough to Eat
The Good Enough to Eat trend in interior design for 2025 is a playful approach to home décor that takes inspiration from the world of food and drink. This trend incorporates colours, textures and forms reminiscent of edible delights, creating interiors that feel vibrant, indulgent, and irresistibly joyful. It blurs the boundaries between culinary creativity and home design, offering spaces that stimulate the senses and evoke a sense of whimsy and comfort.
From Pantone’s 2025 Colour of the Year Mocha Mousse to the lemon vibes of Dulux’s chosen hue for this year True Joy, choose colour palettes inspired by food. Earthy tones like caramel and espresso and shades reminiscent of ice creams and macarons will have our mouths watering when we look around our home interiors. Materials like marble and wood, with grain patterns that mimic swirling chocolate or artisanal bread, tie into the theme, as do fabrics like velvet and boucle which evoke the smoothness of cream or the fluffiness of meringue.
Playful shapes and forms like ottomans shaped like marshmallows, pendant lights resembling wine glasses, or poufs with a cupcake-like silhouette add an element of fun.
Decor items such as fruit-shaped bowls, lemon coasters and colourful ceramics, jars of spices, or utensils styled like art pieces will bring comfort and joy into our homes this year.
#3 Sensescaping
The Sensescaping trend in interior design for 2025 is a holistic approach to creating interiors that engage all five senses, fostering immersive, wellness-focused environments. This trend goes beyond aesthetics to design spaces that evoke emotional responses and enhance well-being by carefully considering how interiors look, feel, sound, smell, and even taste.
Emphasis is placed on materials that feel good to touch, such as soft wools, velvets and smooth stones. Elements like indoor plants, organic forms, and natural light are prioritised to connect interiors with the outdoors; and furniture and spaces are crafted for comfort, featuring rounded edges, cushioned seating and inviting surfaces.
Dedicated quiet zones for relaxation or mindfulness, free from external noise pollution, are important within this trend as well as layered lighting schemes, including soft uplights, dimmable lamps, and candlelight, to create mood-enhancing atmospheres.
By curating spaces that cater to all the senses, this trend creates immersive environments that nurture both physical and emotional health. Its focus on personalisation ensures that each space feels uniquely comforting and deeply engaging.
#4 Quiet Luxury (still trending in 2025)
The Quiet Luxury trend in interior design for 2025 focuses on understated elegance, prioritising quality, craftsmanship and timeless aesthetics over flashy or ostentatious elements. It is the design world’s response to an era where subtlety, sustainability, and authenticity are valued more than overt displays of wealth. This trend is about creating spaces that exude sophistication and comfort, rooted in restraint and attention to detail.
Emphasis is placed on authentic materials like marble, solid wood, linen, cashmere, and wool, showcasing their natural beauty. Furniture designs are clean, with refined lines and proportions. Think mid-century modern pieces or timeless European styles.
Spaces are generally curated with fewer items, each chosen for its lasting appeal and functionality. The trend leans into minimalism, focusing on open, airy layouts with intentional décor, while art and décor pieces double as functional elements, like a statement chair or a uniquely designed light fixture.
Quiet Luxury’s neutral and refined aesthetic ensures its relevance across time, making it a practical choice for those seeking enduring beauty.
#5 Colour Impact (and drenching)
The Double Drenching or Colour Bathing trend in interior design for 2025 embraces immersive colour application, where a single colour or tone is used across multiple surfaces in a room to create a cohesive, dramatic, and enveloping effect. This trend transforms spaces into bold yet harmonious environments by saturating walls, ceilings, furniture, and decor with a unified hue or tonal variations. It’s a response to the desire for impactful, emotionally resonant interiors that go beyond neutral palettes.
For this aesthetic, rich, saturated hues like deep emerald green, cobalt blue, terracotta, or aubergine dominate for maximum impact. Softer tones, such as muted pinks, sage greens, or dusty blues, offer a subtler, calming interpretation of the trend.
Upholstered furniture, rugs, and even light fixtures are selected in complementary shades to extend the drenching and cocooning effect.
The uniform application of colour across walls, ceilings, and even built-in furniture can enhance the architectural features of a space, making them feel sculptural and impactful. In some interpretations, a single contrasting object, like a neutral sofa or metallic pendant light, is introduced to punctuate the space. So, while the trend emphasises saturation, adding a few subtle variations in texture or material prevents the room from feeling overwhelming.
Double drenching works particularly well in smaller spaces, such as bathrooms or studies, where the enveloping effect can create a cosy and intimate atmosphere.

Muted Metals (iron, copper and time-worn brass)
Choose understated metallic finishes like brushed brass, oxidized copper, and matte pewter for a trending look in 2025. These subdued tones add warmth and sophistication without the shine of traditional metals. Often paired with natural materials, muted metals blend seamlessly into interiors, offering timeless elegance and a touch of subtle luxury.
Ceramics and Clay Textures
Rising in popularity this year is the adoption of handcrafted, organic surfaces inspired by raw, earthy materials. Terracotta, unglazed ceramics, and textured clay finishes add warmth and authenticity to interiors. From vases to wall treatments, these tactile elements celebrate imperfections, bringing a natural, artisanal charm and grounding energy to modern spaces.
Artful Lighting
Here lighting I used as a central design element, blending function with artistry to create sculptural and impactful visual statements. Organic curves, geometric silhouettes, and asymmetrical designs take centre stage, elevating lighting to the level of fine art. This trend transforms lighting from a secondary feature into a focal point, defining the character of a space.
